VISA INTERVIEW ESSENTIALS WITH FAQ

Make sure you carry all these documents when you attend the VISA interview

Financial Documents:
1) House & Land papers or any other proof which are your mother and
fathers name(if supported by parents)
2)your bank statement along with affidavit of support and balance certificate issued from bank
that serves as a covering letter for bank statement.(if applicable)
3)your supporters(uncle,aunt, etc.) bank statement along with affidavit of support and balance certificate issued from bank
that serves as a covering letter for bank statement.(if applicable)
4) Justification of any big credits that have been made into your account during last few months.
5) Salary slips of all earning members along with tax return certificate and NTN certificate.



Educational Documents:
1) Updated Resume
2) All university , college and school transcripts/marksheets and degrees
3) Extra curricular certificates
4) correspondence through email with professor in the school that you are applying to (if any)
5) TOEFL and GRE score card
6) All relevant docs like admission letter etc sent by US university along with I20


Work Experience Documents:
1) All works related documents including offer letter, joining letter and awards (if any)


Essentials:
1) I20
2) SEVIS fee receipt
3) passport

1) i have not got any admits from any university yet,can i book my visa slot even without getting an i20?

Yes u can do that with fake SEVIS number.Login to the website and fill DS forms at last it will ask u for SEVIS number;give a rough number in that
column and u can change it after getting i20.

2)I don't know where I am going to stay so what should I write there?

The name of person who signed on i20 and his/her phone number [u can get ph no from univ website]
(or)
If you do not know the adress yet, just mention the name of the city that you are going to.


3)How long do you intend to stay in the U.S?

The duration of course writen on you I-20 A-B(i.e. your I-20) is the period that you have to stay there. That would vary from 2-3 yrs. As mentioned.


4)Are any of the following person in U.S; In that sister/brother option is given, and I have my sister/brother staying in U.S. and that too at the same place where I am going for my M.S so will that create a negative impact, how should I tackle the situation ?

It won't create any problem. suit yourself on this one.


5)I have not left the company how will I get a work experience certificate?

Get work experience certificate for the period till now.

6)currently i am not a student or employed , what should i fill for "are u currently employed or studying?"

NO

7)who will pay for ur trip? ; i have got full time grad assistant ship from my univ?

Parents/university.


8)Is provisional cert necessary for visa interview or a degree completion certificate will do.?

Degree completion certificate works well.

9)Does the VO ask for a reason for booking slot under emergency ?

If u have college starting date with in 120days u r eligible to select emergency appointment.

10)can i block my date with the i20 which i hav and can i change it later before the visa date if i get i20 frm other awaited university?

You can book ur slot with one i20 and later change it. You need to pay the SEVIS fee for the new i20 and cancel the previous one, after which it will be refunded to you.
You can change the sevis number 3 working days before the interview is going to be held.

My street address is 10-37-15/2. So, here I should fill up as 10 37 15 2 is it correct?

It doesnt matter even if it is like 34 43 56 64.
